JOB TITLE: Project Coordinator / Lobbyist and Government Relations – Full Time Position
Location: Tel Aviv Office, but could also work out of home on several days a week, as needed, if individual is Jerusalem based.
SUMMARY OF PRINCIPAL RESPONSBILITIES:
Under the Direction of the FoEME Tel Aviv Director, the Project Coordinator will lead a new project that will empower chosen residents from FoEME's 8 Israeli Good Water Neighbor communities to educate and advocate on shared water issues and peace building before members of Knesset and other Israeli decision makers. Together with Palestinian and Jordanian Project coordinators transboundary advocacy will take place involving all 25 GWN communities including Palestine and Jordan.
QUALIFICATIONS
All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
1. Degree in a liberal arts field is required in international relations, law, public policy or media. In addition an environmental related field is an advantage.
2. A deep understanding of Middle East politics and peace process issues.
3. Actual advocacy experience, preferably in the Knesset, including writing policy papers and media releases, grassroots mobilization and track record of appearances before the media and decision makers.
4. Experience working in a crossborder framework advantage with exceptional inter-personal skills and willingness to travel in the region extensively a requirement.
5. Can demonstrate through actions undertaken a deep commitment to environmental protection and/or peace building.
6. Minimum three years experience in an NGO and/or projects management in a leadership position required.
7. Written and spoken Hebrew and English mother tongue are required. Arabic an advantage.
