| The Iron Wall exposes one of the most pressing issues of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The world must understand that the chance of reaching a viable negotiated settlement may soon be irreversibly annihilated. It is imperative that this powerful film get a wide audience, and that efforts be mobilized to prevent an imminent disaster.”

"THE IRON WALL"
A documentary film by Mohammed Alatar
The Iron Wall exposes the phenomenon of the Israeli colonies (often referred to as "settlements"), illegally built on occupied Palestinian land. This documentary film reveals how the colonies have always been part of Israeli policy, and warns of their devastating effect on the possibility of peace. The film also touches on Israel's latest project to secure the colonies as permanent facts on the ground - the wall that Israel is building in the West Bank, which Israeli leaders have now admitted will serve to annex Palestinian lands.
The Iron Wall features interviews with prominent Israeli and Palestinian peace activists and political analysts, including Jeff Halper, Akiva Eldar, Hind Khoury, and Ghassan Al-Khatib, as well as Israeli settlers and soldiers, and Palestinian farmers.
The documentary film is 58 minutes long, in English and Arabic with English subtitles. The DVD includes an information sheet about the Israeli colonies and a map of the Wall's route.
The Iron Wall was directed by Mohammed Alatar, a longtime peace activist and the founder of Palestinians for Peace and Democracy. It is produced by the Palestinian Agricultural Relief Committees (PARC), a non-governmental organization working to support Palestinian farmers by providing technical, financial, and moral support to help sustain them. PARC is also very involved in social development, including women's empowerment, youth development, environmental protection, social responsibility, and building institutions dealing with these issues.
The film has been screened to international diplomats in Ramallah and East Jerusalem, and has received high praise from them. All proceeds from the film will go towards the work of PARC, and every film sale will result in the donation of an olive tree to be planted by a Palestinian farmer.
The film can be obtained by individuals (for home use) for a contribution of 18 Euros, including shipping, at www.theironwall.ps.

“The Iron Wall is a highly recommended film for anyone concerned with the quest for a just and peaceful resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict - a film that takes a clear stand while showing genuine empathy for both sides."
